FinWisory, founded in 2021, is The High Finance Society of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, University of Delhi. FinWisory is a student-driven network oriented towards careers in Finance which mainly involve in Venture Capital and Private Equity and financial consulting for student growth and development and Investment Banking

FinWisory is dedicated to advancing the study and practical application of finance from a business perspective, with a primary focus on corporate finance rather than personal finance. This society aims to equip students with the essential skills needed to navigate the complexities of financial management within businesses and startups, offering a comprehensive approach to finance education that makes us indispensable to aspiring corporate professionals.

As the only society in SGTB Khalsa College exclusively dedicated to corporate finance, FinWisory stands out through its unique structure. Unlike other societies, we integrate Skill Departments alongside the traditional Functional Departments, providing students with an unparalleled platform for hands-on learning in areas such as venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE). This innovative approach allows our members to not  only understand theoretical finance but also apply these concepts practically, making FinWisory a crucial platform for those looking to thrive in the corporate finance and investment sectors.

FinWisory is a leading finance society dedicated to creating a dynamic platform for learning, growth, and collaboration in the finance field. Its activities are structured around two primary areas: Skill-based Department Activities and Functional Department Activities, which together help members develop technical expertise and operational competence.

The Skill-based Department Activities focus on building practical knowledge and essential skills for success in finance. A key initiative is the Investment Board, where members gain hands-on experience in venture capital and private equity. Through rigorous research, investment theses development, and presentations to peers and experts, members refine their financial analysis and decision-making abilities.

Another significant activity is Finance Talks, which aims to improve financial literacy and communication skills. Through workshops, discussions, and speaker sessions, members learn to explore and communicate complex financial concepts effectively. This initiative helps members build confidence in presenting financial ideas, an important skill for professional growth.

In addition to skill-building activities, FinWisory offers robust Functional Department Activities that ensure the smooth operation of the society. These departments include research, technical support, marketing, and outreach, all crucial for maintaining FinWisory's daily operations. The research team conducts analyses to support activities, while the technical team manages digital platforms. The marketing team promotes events, and the outreach team builds relationships with external organizations, institutions, and industry experts.

FinWisory also organizes a series of Extra-Curricular Activities that offer interactive and educational experiences. These include organizing inter-college competitions and intra-society contests to enhance members’ skills and foster a competitive spirit. The society participates in prestigious finance events, where teams of analysts showcase their financial expertise. Internal competitions also allow members to apply their knowledge and engage in friendly rivalry.

A standout event is FinOrate 2.0: The Finance Dialogue, held on November 27, 2024. This flagship event featured industry leaders such as Khalid Wani, Rahul Sharma, and Vandana Tolani, who shared insights on emerging trends and opportunities in finance. With over 100 participants, the event was a valuable networking and learning platform.

The society also organizes an annual Pre-Recruitment Orientation, introducing potential new members to FinWisory’s structure and goals. Another highlight is the FinHunt Treasure Hunt, a finance-themed challenge that combines problem-solving with fun, offering participants a chance to apply financial concepts in a competitive setting. The Induction Session marks the onboarding of new members, providing them with an overview of the society’s mission, objectives, and expectations.

Through these diverse initiatives, FinWisory empowers members to deepen their financial knowledge, refine essential soft skills, and build strong professional networks. By focusing on individual growth and collective achievement, FinWisory remains committed to shaping the next generation of finance leaders.
