About Tegh
Tegh is the annual magazine of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College. First published in 1953, the magazine was envisioned to create a literary culture of reading, discussion, and opining on societal issues. The inaugural edition featured articles, poems, and short stories contributed by the faculty, alongside language-specific sections in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, showcasing literary works by students. Additionally, it documented student achievements in sports and academics and included photographs capturing the formative days of various college societies and departments.
Since its inception, the magazine has evolved significantly, incorporating articles on college events, detailed reports on the developments of various wings,, faculty achievements, and press releases. Keeping up with the trends of the reading, the magazine is now available in both print and digital formats. Recent editions even include features, such as QR codes linking to student-produced short films, enhancing engagement with readers.
The magazine is created and managed by an Editorial Board reconstituted every two years, comprising a Chief Editor, an Associate Editor, and faculty editors for the English, Hindi, and Punjabi sections. The Student Editorial Board plays a vital role in the magazine's creation, with student editors managing content and graphics. This division is designed to offer students a platform to hone their writing and creative skills both in the domains of writing or content generation and graphic designing, along gaining hands-on experience in publishing.
Through its rich legacy and contemporary approach, Tegh continues to celebrate the creativity, achievements, and spirit of the college community.

The Tegh issue 2023 – 24 was thoughtfully crafted to revive students’ literature within the institution. In an era dominated by diverse forms of reading materials—digital, print, audio, and video—it is essential to cultivate institutional literature that embraces these emerging mediums.
This edition remained special for two reasons. First, it introduced an innovative feature: a QR code linked to a short film titled My Khalsa, an audio-visual rendition complementing the print section on the same theme. Second, this issue archived the department photographs comprising of the faculty members appointed as permanent employees of the college in the academic year.
