The Department of History at SGTB Khalsa College was founded in 1951 with a commitment to fostering a profound and analytical understanding of history among students. Since its inception, the department has focused on integrating both theoretical knowledge and practical learning, ensuring a comprehensive and holistic approach to the subject. With a team of dedicated faculty members who are deeply engaged in both teaching and research, the department currently boasts eight permanent faculty members. Following the syllabus prescribed by the University of Delhi, we offer a diverse array of courses to our students. In addition to regular academic instruction, the department actively organizes lectures, seminars, and conferences, providing opportunities for students to engage with contemporary research in the field. We are wholeheartedly committed to the academic development of our students, encouraging them to cultivate a creative and critical understanding of historical events and processes.
