The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central sector scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and was launched in Mahatma Gandhi's centenary year, 1969. It is a voluntary association that provides youth across educational institutions the opportunity to take part in government-led community service activities and programs.

Vision
With its strong commitment to the NSS motto ‘Not Me, But You’, the NSS unit of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College (NSS-SGTB KC) strives to instil among its student volunteers the values of democratic living, equality of opportunity, and selfless service towards those less privileged than themselves.
Mission
NSS SGTB Khalsa College takes pride in its vast pool of immensely zealous volunteers who show a profound amount of initiative and eagerness in undertaking all kinds of social services, as well as identify and resonate with the cause and aim of NSS. Thus, in such a manner, NSS tries to bridge the gap between grassroots needs and governmental efforts by engaging in various activities. We currently have five projects in operation apart from numerous other regular activities. The projects are : Project Jeev, Project Dhara, Project Seekho, Project Sehat, and Project Khwaish.
Society Activities
Project Dhara: Focused on environmental conservation, Project Dhara raises awareness on climate change through cleanliness drives, plog runs,etc. for a greener environment.
Project Khwaish: It inspires youth to aid those in need through old age home visits, community engagement, and essential donation drives, bringing hope and joy to the underprivileged.
Project Sehat: Project Sehat promotes health and hygiene with webinars, medical checkups, and blood donation drives focused on overall community well-being.
Project Seekho: It enhances skills through expert-led sessions in technical, soft, and leadership skills, empowering individuals for brighter and more competitive futures.
Project Jeev: Dedicated to animal welfare,it advocates for the well-being of animals through education and initiatives aimed at fostering compassion for all living beings.
Electoral Literacy Club: This club promotes electoral awareness and civic responsibility through discussions on electoral laws and voter registration drives.
Red Ribbon Club: The club raises awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention, promoting safe practices and regular health checkups to encourage informed choices.
