Welcome to the Research and Development Cell's Webpage
The College established a Science Center in 2015 with an idea to encourage faculty and students to use the vacation period to engage in some research activity. It was hoped that the utilization of equipment purchased for teaching would be maximized and in the process students too would be motivated to take up a career in research. A small amount was sanctioned to the faculty to help in purchase of consumables and pay the students involved an allowance.
The initial rounds were very successful, in terms of participation. It also resulted in international publications with undergraduate students becoming co-authors.
In the second round (2018-19) two projects from Humanities were allocated funds. The two projects were from History and English. It was decided to continue funding research in subjects from Humanities and hence in the third round (2023), the Science Center was renamed as the Research and Development Cell to enlarge the scope.
