SGTB Khalsa College organised a Meet and lecture featuring M. Jagdish Kumar, UGC Chairman, on September 27, 2023. The event took place in Master Tara Singh auditorium of the college, attracting a packed audience of eager students and faculty interested in the lecture on NEP 2020 education structure. The program commenced with the recital of Gurbani by the students of Anhad, the College's Divinity Society. Following this, Principal Jaswinder Singh welcomed the speaker and expressed gratitude for including the college in the Madan Mohan Malviya scheme, aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching through organised development programs for teachers. The speaker then began his lecture by elucidating the structure and benefits of the New Education Policy to the audience, emphasising how it would foster the development of a skilled and educated populace contributing to the nation's progress. Moreover, he encouraged the students to maintain a critical spirit, questioning prejudiced and normative thinking, while also fostering team spirit and embracing a learning-oriented attitude for overcoming failures. This prompted a dynamic question-and-answer session, wherein the students engaged in discussions on various facets of the NEP. The program concluded with the speaker sharing his vision to elevate the Indian education system to international standards, envisioning India as a developed nation by 2047.
