The Students’ Union of SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi, in collaboration with the NSS (National Service Scheme) society, organised successfully, the first initiative and event of its own kind, titled “Raunak’ 23" in the Basketball Court of the college premises on November 4; Under the astute vision of the Officiating Principal, Prof. Surinder Kaur, and the organising team of teachers led by Dr. Inderdeep Kaur and Dr. Ruchi Kaur. The event brought together dynamic initiative and enterprise of students from various fields and spheres which reflected inclusivity, diversity, and spirit of entrepreneurship. The event comprised of multiple stalls and displays which showcased handcrafted items and individually curated artefacts produced by the students of the college. From postcards to home baked items, hand-crafted jewellery and diverse products showcasing the hard-work of the students; the stalls exhibited a unique experience celebrating the vitality of creative energies and budding talent of the youth. The event was a tie-up between Abhyaas Special School, a multi-disciplinary centre for children with special needs and SGTB Khalsa College. The charitable spirit was evidently visible through the presence of numerous donation drives and game-stalls which were set up through tie-ups with different agencies and organisations. The spirit of entrepreneurship among the students reflected in the numerous start-up-based initiatives and stalls set along those lines. The superlative display of talent, enterprise, and spirit of compassion was followed by student performances on stage which comprised of dance, music, poetry, and cultural performances of various kinds. The participation of members of Lakshaya ─ the Enabling Unit of SGTB Khalsa College ─ reflected the spirited and benevolent nature of this initiative. The College feels proud to share that its students created an environment so positive and invigorating that the differently abled children of the Abayas Special School spontaneously participated and presented a Dance Performance on the stage. “Raunak’23" was widely applauded by teachers and students and witnessed an overwhelming participation testifying to the importance of collectivising efforts and mobilising energies through putting together right and meaningful initiatives.
