The Department of Zoology has excellent physical facilities and infrastructure. Zoology Department offers well-equipped labs, museums, lecture theatres, and classrooms. The time-table committee and the teacher in charge group, who distribute the classrooms and labs, effectively manage the best use of the physical facilities.
Classrooms:
A lecture theater G1 has a capacity for over 100 students and G1A with 50 students to be seated. G1 also has a ramp for the physically challenged student and teachers. The classrooms are equipped with LCD projectors. Additionally, these classrooms are utilized for faculty meetings, gatherings of various societies, workshops, small-group seminars, discussions, and practices of a few extracurricular activities.
Laboratories:
Th teaching involves theory as well as practicals for various papers. For practicals and research the Department has 5 laboratories. Every laboratory has the equipment, glassware, and chemicals required to carry out the tests without difficulty. In several of the labs, LCD projectors are available. Laminar flow hoods, incubators, ovens, centrifuges, water baths, refrigerators, microscopes, and other standard amenities like tables, stools, seats, and glassware almirahs are available in biological labs. In addition to these, BOD incubators, spectrophotometers, shakers, cold centrifuges, and UV illuminators can also be used for educational and research purposes.
Museum: The Department of Zoology has a museum with more than 1000 Specimens and Slides. The students are engaged in practicals with the animal specimens to have a deeper and perfect knowledge of the animal world.
In addition to this, the institution includes a computer facility lab that the Botany, Zoology, and computer science departments use for theoretical research.
