Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, in collaboration with the Gatka Federation of India, organised a Three-Day Junior National Gatka Championship from 10th to 12th October 2025 at the college playground. The championship emerged as a significant national-level sporting event, highlighting India’s rich martial heritage while fostering the spirit of competitive sportsmanship.

The event witnessed the participation of over 1,000 Gatka players from across the country, bringing together young athletes from diverse regions on a common platform. The championship provided an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their skill, discipline, and dedication to the traditional martial art of Gatka, while also encouraging healthy competition and mutual respect.

Faculty members and students actively engaged with the event, offering enthusiastic support and encouragement to the participants. The championship aimed to promote physical fitness, cultural heritage, and national integration through sport, while also familiarising the academic community with India’s indigenous martial traditions.

The Three-Day Junior National Gatka Championship concluded successfully, leaving a lasting impression as a vibrant celebration of tradition, athletic excellence, and unity, and reaffirming the college’s commitment to promoting sports, culture, and holistic development among youth.
