The prestigious accolade was presented during Van Mahotsav 2025, held on July 3–4 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, and organized by the Department of Forest and Wildlife, Govt. of NCT of Delhi.

The award ceremony underscored Delhi's urgent transition "From Gas Chamber to Green Capital." Further Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa rallied every Delhiite to join the mission of making Delhi "the Best Capital City in the world," acknowledging partners like eco-clubs of various schools and colleges of Delhi NCR for their vital contributions to this vision.

Dr. Anjana Sagar Kaim, Associate Professor, Department of Botany, who accepted the award on behalf of the college, affirmed that ECOCLAN aligns with the Chief Minister's call: "For years, our students have tackled the environmental crises highlighted today. Our team is keen to work alongside the government and citizens to transform Delhi into a healthier, greener capital."

The award recognizes ECOCLAN’s proven impact in translating environmental science into action, from zero-waste campaigns and urban afforestation to water conservation and community outreach. The club's initiatives have restored ecosystems, reduced the campus's carbon footprint, and fostered a culture of sustainability, making it a benchmark for institutional environmental leadership in Delhi-NCR.

Principal Prof. Gurmohinder Singh lauded the achievement: "This honor validates our college’s commitment to being a laboratory for sustainable change. ECOCLAN’s work embodies the ‘Green Capital’ vision, and we thank CM Rekha Gupta ji for her appreciation. Our gratitude extends to every student, faculty member, and community partner who turned passion into purpose."
