On February 11th, 2025, Music department of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College hosted ‘Basant’–The Music Festival, celebrating music and culture. The event brought together talented musicians and enthusiastic audience resulting in creating a vibrant atmosphere that resonated with the spirit of spring.

The festival was graced by esteemed guests, Prof. Rajeev Verma (Dean, Faculty of Music), S. Bhupinder Singh Bhullar (executive member DSGMC) and S. Inderpreet Singh Kochar (Treasurer SGTB khalsa college), whose presence added to the prestige of the occasion. The highlight of the event was a mesmerizing performance by Our Chief Guest Ustad Fareed Hassan Ji (Delhi Gharana), whose classical recital left the audience spell-bound, showcasing the depth and beauty of Indian classical music. Additionally, talented students performed various genres, including classical, semi-classical, western, and fusion. From intricate ragas to high-energy western compositions and innovative fusion pieces, the festival reflected musical diversity. Basant 2025 beautifully blended tradition with modernity, reinforcing the power of music to bring people together and celebrate cultural heritage. With its rich variety of performances and an engaging audience, the festival left a lasting impression, making it a truly unforgettable celebration of art.
