Annual event 4th chapter of Baba Deep Singh Hockey & Basketball Tournament was organized by SGTB Khalsa College in association with the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB). Limited to an inter college level within Delhi state for both men and women teams, this tournament is the only one played under floodlights at this level. The players for both the games play across the professional spectrum and have, historically, displayed excellent hockey and basketball over the years. Beginning on the pleasant afternoon of 17th April 2025, the Hockey tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Ashok Diwan, ex-Olympian (Hockey) and Prof. Gurmohinder Singh, Principal of SGTB Khalsa College. Including both men and women, the tournament saw a total of fourteen teams in Hockey & Basketball from across Delhi University. In hockey, these teams were further divided into two pools respectively of men and women. Of all these 14 teams, in Basketball & Hockey respectively, the three alumni teams, through their respective games, displayed how hockey & basketball is not just a sport but something that keeps people together despite the interventions of time and space.

The final day of the basketball tournament started in the evening of 25th April 2025 by pitting the women’s team final match of LSR College against Ramjas. LSR won the match by 49-34. In the final match of men’s section, SGTB Khalsa College gave a tough fight to KMC, but they lost against KMC by 81-73. On the final day of the Hockey tournament the DU Alumni team won the women’s final match against IGIPESS by 4-3. SGTB Khalsa College won the tournament from Shyam lal College by 3-2 in Penalty shootouts. The day and the tournament ended by the awarding of the trophies to the runners up teams-IGIPESS and Shyam lal College- and to the champions of the PSPB 4th Baba Deep Singh Hockey Tournament-SGTB Khalsa College and DU Alumna. Team players and officials were awarded with trophies, goodies and gifts. Along with the tournament awards, the Annual Sports Prize Distribution was also done by the Chief guest. These awards were given honouring the college’s outstanding players and teams; especially those who are position holders in the inter college competitions, National, University & State levels.
