1. After registering online on the Delhi University site, do aspirants need to fill offline forms as well ?
No, there is no offline form for registration.
2. Can the candidate take admission in two different courses or the same course in different colleges after declaration of a cut off?
No, you cannot take admission simultaneously in two different courses or the same course in different colleges. In case you take admission at two places, your admission will be cancelled from both the colleges/courses.
3. Can one apply to the courses other than those selected in DU registration form?
No, there is no offline form for registration.
4. Can one study a subject in college that he/she has not studied in Class XI-XII?
Please check University guidelines for specific details. The University penalizes stream changes by a deduction of qualifying marks.
5. Will there be a disadvantage for gap-year candidates?
No, applicants with gap year(s) will not be at any disadvantage for the purpose of admission.
6. How does one apply through the ECA or Sports quota?
You can apply for ECA and Sports quota by selecting appropriate options while filling registration form on the DU Admissions portal.
7. Can the candidate get admission under ECA/Sports category just by registering online?
Candidate is required to appear for the centralized trials conducted by university.
8. Will the admissions be given on a first-come-first-serve basis after declaration of cut-offs?
Admissions won't be based on first-come-first-serve basis. Aspirants have to meet the cut-off criteria for a particular programme/course and then will be considered for admission as per the schedule.
9. What is a Generic Elective?
This is a subject taken up by the student from a domain other than the one she is specializing in. The student is expected to take one Generic Elective Course paper each in the first four semesters.
10. Does admission to a particular course in the college ensure a hostel seat?
No. Please refer to college admission brochure for more details.
11. If one has completed class 12th from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling). Can he/she get admission in a regular college?
Yes. You can get admission in a regular college provided you have applied in an available programme/course and meet the cut-off criteria.
