About
Shoonya, the Mathematics Society of the Department of Mathematics, is a vibrant student-led platform that brings together mathematical curiosity, academic enthusiasm, and a spirit of community. Founded with the aim of fostering a deeper engagement with mathematics beyond the classroom, Shoonya regularly organizes seminars, workshops, talks by eminent mathematicians, and interactive sessions to promote analytical thinking and collaborative learning. Beyond academics, the society believes in holistic development and community building. Throughout the year, it hosts a variety of fun and intellectually stimulating events. Its annual flagship event, Wronskian, held under the college’s cultural fest Lashkara, includes engaging one-minute games and BidWiser, an IPL-style auction that attracts participants from across the University of Delhi and institutes like DTU. The society also designs and curates the annual magazine of the department called MATHOS, with the first edition launched in the session 2024–25.
