About
Established in 1999, Ecotryst, the Economics Society of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, is a platform for students to shape themselves into socially responsible, well-rounded individuals with strong academic foundations.
Behind the efforts and achievements of the society, we have the entire faculty of the Economics Department that collectively guides the students to achieve their true potential. For the academic year 2024-25, the society is headed by the following faculty members:

Vision
Ecotryst envisions to provide a holistic education and understanding of economics by encouraging students to look beyond the books and the classroom. The society works tirelessly not only to provide better understanding of the real world but also towards an overall development of students to better equip them with leadership skills and knowledge to drive innovation, influence policy, and create a positive impact on society.
Mission
Ecotryst endeavors to bring together distinguished academicians, renowned researchers and industry experts to provide the necessary exposure to foster deep understanding of economic theories and their practical applications. We encourage discussions and debates among students and by equipping our students with expertise in economic policy, sustainable development, and financial systems, we aim to contribute to informed decision-making and the creation of equitable and efficient economic frameworks.
Society Activities
Every year the society hosts seminars and interactions with distinguished academics and industry experts along with skill development workshops and some creative activities based on their knowledge and understanding of Economics concepts to make learning fun and fruitful.
